Our coaches
Ryan Aldrich
Ryan is a founding member of Sheyenne River CrossFit and also one of the Owner/Coaches. He was one of the very first members at the gym and purchased the gym with another member in September of 2020. His love for CrossFit is only eclipsed by his excitement of seeing others succeed and meet their goals. Certifications: CrossFit-Level II, CrossFit-Level I Preferred Class Time: 6:00 AM Coaching Class Times: 5:00 AM, 6:00 AM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM Passions: Helping people get a better understanding of how to make diet and exercise work for them. Each person has their own unique story, and exercise and nutrition plays a different role in each of them.
Kerri Gortmaker
Kerri is our resident warrior. While the warrior term is related to her fight with breast cancer, it can be used in almost every phase of her life. She’s been a member for almost five years and purchased the gym with Ryan Aldrich in September of 2020. Certifications: CrossFit-Level I Certification Preferred Class Time: 5:00 PM Coaching Class Times: TBD Passion: There’s no doubt that Kerri’s passion is with her fellow warriors. A big supporter of Barbells For Boobs, Kerri is a shining star for this community and looks to continue to evolve what we do for those fighting breast cancer.
Kiki Brophy
Kiki is a member turned coach. She’s been doing CrossFit for over three years and has been coaching since early in 2022. She loves working with all our members, but has a special place for our “Masters” athletes and really loves anything Strongman related. Certifications: CrossFit-Level II Certification, CrossFit-Level I Certification Preferred Class Time: 6:00 PM Coaching Class Times: 9:00 AM, 4:15 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM Passions: Helping senior members continue with their fitness and stay healthy. Kiki loves working with our Masters athletes and has a real eye for functional movement and form.
Mike Boeddeker
Mike started at Sheyenne River CrossFit during one of the Nutrition Kickstarts and has been a staple member since then. He’s a former athlete and has a great gift for socializing with any member. He got into coaching at Sheyenne River CrossFit because of his love of CrossFit and his want to help others, but his biggest passion is working with our student athletes to help them improve their skill-sets related to their sport. Certifications: CrossFit-Level I Certification Preferred Class Time: 4:00 PM Open Gym Coaching Class Times: 5:00 AM, 6:00 AM Passion: Mike, a former athlete, really loves any of our student athlete classes and is always looking for ways that we can improve and increase our opportunities to help these athletes.
Hillary Ehlen
Hillary also started out as a member and converted into a coach. Coaching is in her nature as she’s also one of the coaches for the West Fargo Packatahnas. Like Mike, she loves coaching all our classes, but has a special place for our student athletes. When you don’t see her coaching, you’ll see her taking amazing photos as she’s also our resident photographer. Certifications: CrossFit-Level I Certification Preferred Class Time: 9:00 AM Coaching Class Times: 9:00 AM Passion: Working with student athletes. Hillary brought in the Packatahnas group and loved working with them to improve their explosive movements and mobility. Seeing the evolution of her athletes always brings a smile to her face.
Ashley Lemar
Just like all our other coaches, Ashley started out as a member and then took on a coaching role early in 2021. She has a gift for working with our 6:00 PM class and anytime our coaches are goofing around. With a background in behavioral science, this isn’t a surprise. Ashley loves helping people understand the why behind what they do (both in the gym and out) and plays a big role in our nutrition and goal setting areas. Certifications: CrossFit-Level I Certification Preferred Class Time: 6:00 PM Coaching Class Times: 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM Passion: Helping people understand their “why”. Exercise and nutrition can be complicated fields to navigate and Ashley wants to help all our members be their best and understand that being their best doesn’t mean ALWAYS being their best.
